CQUniversity Law Clinic

CQCLC hosts the CQUniversity Law Clinic and through the Centre provides students studying in the CQUni Laws program the opportunity to further their learning by attendance at advice sessions (with permission of the client).

Students also volunteer as Support Officers providing assistance in our front office.  Interested in volunteering, please send your resume and covering letter to us.

Student Experiences At Advice Clinics

The CQCLC Evening Clinic currently hosts the CQUniversity Law students in attending advice sessions.

Distance is not a problem, those outside of Rockhampton have utilised ZOOM to attend.  The advice sessions at the evening clinics are facilitated by volunteer solicitors drawn from private practices in the Rockhampton region.

The students have had the opportunity to undertake and present research on the legal problem, take instructions and notes and assist the client in accessing forms etc.

Feedback from students:

“The supervised client interview was extremely helpful in terms of gaining meaningful, real-world experience.”  (SS)

“Thank you so much for this opportunity to engage and learn from yourselves via the zoom session yesterday.  I have learnt so much already and it feels that what I have learnt I can see how it is delivered in a practical level.   Whilst sitting watching, I certainly felt that confirmation that I am going along the right journey and am very excited!”  (ND, Far Nth Qld)
