Elder Abuse and Prevention Support Service

In partnership with Relationships Australia Queensland, we provide legal information and advice to those at risk of experiencing elder abuse.  The service is available to people over the age of 60 and or over the age of 50 for Indigenous people and that are at risk of experiencing elder abuse.  

The CQCLC has significant experience in the area of elder abuse providing legal advice and some casework assistance to clients regarding:

  • Elder abuse – commonly financial, emotional and psychological;
  • Enduring Powers of Attorney;
  • Wills/intestacy;
  • Grandparents’ rights.

The CQCLC can, where appropriate:

  • provide information, advice and support regarding elder abuse
  • mistreatment or financial exploitation
  • provide information about your legal rights
  • refer you to other legal, consumer and support services
  • provide community education
